She has reported on many significant news stories over the last 20 years, from crime to politics. She holds a BA in English and French from NUI Maynooth and a BA in legal studies from Dublin Institute of Technology. She now lives in Inishowen, Co. Donegal with her husband Richard and their two sons where she works as a freelance journalist and in radio & TV. She is also a qualified pilates teacher and children’s yoga teacher and runs creative writing courses for children. Kathy has an amazing true life story and will tell you how and why she moved from a busy high profile media life in Dublin back to her native Donegal to set up her business.
Leona Kane’s story is amazing & she will tell you how she founded Broighter Gold Rapeseed Oil after deciding to try the oil from the seed grown on her husband’s farm when she ran out of olive oil for cooking one evening. She will tell you how much easier it is to sell a product that you are passionate about, and it means so much to be able to sell a product that is grown, processed and marketed direct from your own farm. They were recently awarded the Economusee (Artisans at Work) for NI through the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust, and have been travelling to UK and Canada promoting their oil.
Denise Devlin is a passionate, innovative and creative entrepreneur who came up with a ‘out of the box’ ‘wacky’ idea to use in training and coaching that has taken Ireland by storm.
Five years ago she saw a gap in the market as people were so bored with the usual ‘death by power point,’ long lectures and pages of handouts. So she created training delivered in a ‘party style’ setting that would teach new methodologies & tools, be positive & fun, thus Positive Parties® ‘Training With a Difference’ was born, now ready to be franchised in 2016.
Denise was delighted to receive the Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Strabane Business Awards 2015. Her favourite saying is ….. “Believe you can and you are half way there.”
